Claim: Video of Indian Army Jawans thrashing people spying for Pakistan in Ajmer.

Fact: The video shared in the post shows old visuals of Madhya Pradesh police personnel thrashing a few Muslims for violating the COVID-19 lockdown norms. This incident took place in April 2020 at a Mosque located on Unkala road in Ratlam, MP. This video has nothing to do with the recent incident of a Pakistan spy arrested in Ajmer. Hence, the claim made in the post is FALSE.

On reverse image search of the screenshots in the video, a video with similar visuals was found tweeted by ‘NDTV’ journalist Anurag Dwary on 17 April 2020. Anurag Dwary reported it as visuals of police personnel thrashing Muslims for violating the COVID-19 lockdown norms in Ratlam, Madhya Pradesh.

Reporting the complete details of the incident, ‘NDTV’ published an article on 18 April 2020. This article reported that the incident had taken place at a Mosque located in front of the Sudhama complex on Unkala road in Ratlam. According to the article, on 17 April 2020, many Muslims gathered at a Mosque on Unkala road and offered mass prayers violating the COVID-19 lockdown norms. On receiving this information, a team of police and administrative officers reached the spot and beat a few Muslims caught coming out from the Mosque. Ratlam police personnel had arrested these Muslims and registered a case against them.

Reporting the same, a few other news channels also published this video on their YouTube channels. Recently, there are news reports that a man named Mohammed Yunus was arrested in Ajmer on allegations of spying for Pakistan. But the video shared in the post has nothing to do with the incident.

To sum it up, an unrelated old video from Madhya Pradesh is shared as visuals of Indian Army jawans thrashing the men spying for Pakistan in Ajmer.
