On 06 October 2025, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar inaugurated the first phase of the Patna Metro. The 3.6-kilometre elevated Priority Corridor connects New ISBT, Zero Mile, and Bhoothnath stations, aiming to reduce traffic congestion and provide a fast, modern, and eco-friendly commuting option for Patna residents.
In this context, a video is circulating on social media (here, here, and here), claiming to show several people, including children, sneaking under the turnstiles to enter a newly inaugurated Patna Metro station without tickets. India TV also reported the video, stating that it was filmed at the Patna Metro in Bihar. Let’s verify the claim made in the post in this article.

Claim: The video shows people sneaking into Patna Metro without tickets.
Fact: The viral video does not show people sneaking into Patna Metro without tickets. The visuals are from the HUDA City Centre metro station in Gurugram, part of the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation. The card-swiping machine logo, a board mentioning “Swasth Vibhag Gurugram,” and the signboard of the Oyster’s Water Park all indicate the location as Gurugram. Patna Metro Rail Corporation also confirmed on X on 13 October 2025 that the video is not from any Patna Metro station. Hence, the claim made in the post is FALSE.
Upon closer examination, several clues indicate that the video is not from Bihar. For instance, the card-swiping machine in the video displays a logo resembling the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), which appears multiple times throughout the clip. This logo is completely different from the Patna Metro Rail Corporation’s logo, as shown in the comparison below. Additionally, a board visible in one part of the video reads “Swasth Vibhag Gurugram” (Gurugram Health Department in Hindi), further suggesting that the video was not filmed at Patna Metro.

We then compared the logo in the viral video with the Patna Metro Rail Corporation (PMRC) logo and found them to be completely different. The logo in the viral video matches the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) logo, as can be seen in the comparison below.

We also noticed a signboard in the background with the words “Oyster’s Water Park” written. An internet search for Oyster’s Water Park in Delhi-NCR revealed that the park is now closed. This indicates that the metro station seen in the video is likely Millennium City Centre or HUDA City Centre in Gurugram, the two nearest stations to the former park.

A Google Maps search for HUDA City Centre shows visuals that closely match the frames seen in the viral video. The comparison between the viral video and the Google Maps photo can be seen below.

The Patna Metro Rail Corporation also refuted the viral claim in a post on X (formerly Twitter) on 13 October 2025. It stated, “A video widely shared on social media claims that passengers on the Patna Metro are passing under or through the AFC barrier and travelling without tickets. This claim is false. The video is not from any Patna Metro station.”
However, we could not independently verify the exact date or the person who shot the video. Based on the available evidence, it is clear that the viral video is not from Patna Metro in Bihar, but from HUDA City Centre metro station in Gurugram, which is part of the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation.
To sum up, this viral video does not show people sneaking into the Patna Metro without tickets; it was recorded in HUDA City Centre, Gurugram.
