A cartoon depicting multiculturalism in Europe is being shared on social media claiming it is a recent cartoon published by a newspaper in Europe. The image depicts visuals of men in skull caps raping a woman in front of her religiously tolerant father in Europe. Let’s verify the claim made in the post.

Claim: Photo of a cartoon that was recently published by a European newspaper on multiculturalism.

Fact: The cartoon shared in the post was published by Farstar88, an artist from South Africa who publishes political cartoons as well as comics. Farstar88 published this cartoon in June 2015. The original image did not depict multiculturalism specifically in Europe. Hence, the claim made in the post is False.

On reverse image search of the photo shared in the post,  the original version of the image was found tweeted by a user in 2017. In the original photo, one could see the watermark ‘Farstar88’ at the bottom right. When we searched for further sources using this information, we found the same image on the WordPress page of Farstar88.

Farstar88 published this image on 17 June 2015 with the title, “Sex Grooming UK”. The original cartoon did not portray multiculturalism specifically in Europe.

The ‘About‘ section of the Farstar88 WordPress page states, “Farstar88 is a Fascist artist from South Africa who specialises in political cartoons as well as comics in order to provide a much-needed narrative that is ruthlessly suppressed and excluded from mainstream consciousness”. A few other political cartoons published by Farstar88 can be seen here and here. From all these pieces of evidence, it can be concluded that the cartoon shared in the post is old and has nothing to do with the ongoing riots in France.

To sum it up, an old cartoon published by a South African artist in 2015 is shared as the latest cartoon published by a European newspaper on multiculturalism.
