Claim: An image of a ghat road in Himachal Pradesh with multiple hairpin bends.

Fact: Image shows the ‘San Boldo Pass’ located in the Veneto region of Italy. Hence the claim made in the post is FALSE.

A reverse image search of the viral image led us to several social media posts (here & here)  where users mentioned the same image as the ‘San Boldo Pass’ in Italy.

Taking a cue from this, we conducted further research to gather more information about this road, which resulted in the discovery of various stock images and vlogs showcasing this route.

The San Boldo Pass is a small mountain pass located in the Veneto region of Italy, nestled between the towns of Trichiana and Tovena within the Cison di Valmarino region. Spanning a distance of 17 km, it is situated at the southern edge of the Alps. This pass acts as a vital link between the Val Belluna and the Val Mareno, ascending to an impressive height of 706 m. Its notable features include five tunnels that have been carved into the rock, each exhibiting distinctive hairpin turns or loops, accompanied by six bridges.

Furthermore, visualizations of this road can be seen on Google Maps and Google Earth.

To sum it up, the viral image shows the ‘San Boldo Pass’ in Italy and not a ghat road in Himachal Pradesh.
