A video is being shared on social media claiming it as visuals of two girls consuming liquor at a public place in Delhi. This video show two girls consuming alcohol and having a serious argument with a person who questioned them for drinking in a public place. Sharing the video, this post criticises Delhi CM Aravind Kejriwal for encouraging alcohol consumption in Delhi. Let’s verify the claim made in the post.

Fact: The video shared in the post is a scripted one. This video was created intentionally for informative purposes, and was created by a prankster named Sunny Thakur. Similar scripted entertainment and promotional videos were found published on Sunny Thakur’s social media pages. This video does not show a real incident in Delhi. Hence, the claim made in the post is FALSE.
On observing the video shared in the post carefully, we could see a disclaimer notification at the 1:16 timestamp of the video. The text in the disclaimer reads, “This video is for entertainment & promotional only. It falls under the fair use law. We do not wish to make any commercial use. All the contents are intended to showcase the creativity of the artist involved and is strictly done for promotional purpose”.
Also, on the video, we could see a watermark text ‘Instagram-Mr_Thakur1612’, displayed at the bottom middle of the video. It is found out that the Instagram handle belongs to a prankster named Sunny Thakur. Similar promotional and prank videos were found published on this Instagram handle of Sunny Thakur. An extended version of the same video shared in the post was found published on Sunny Thakur’s Facebook page, on 26 November 2021. Sunny Thakur published this video with the title, “नशे की हालत में मिली लड़की और देने लगी गालिया || Thakur Prank”. At the end of the video, Sunny Thakur explained the video as a scripted drama created only for educational purposes.
Also, Sunny Thakur had published the part-2 version of the same concept where we could see a different girl consuming alcohol in a public park. From all these pieces of evidence, it can be concluded that the video shared in the post is a scripted one, not a real incident.
