A video (here, here and here) showing a leopard attacking people on a moving train, grabbing a person, and causing panic among passengers is circulating on social media with the claim that it occurred in Gopal Nagar, Amravati district, Maharashtra. Let’s verify the truth behind this video.

Claim: The viral video shows a leopard attacking people on a moving train and grabbing a passenger in the Gopal Nagar, Amravati district, Maharashtra.
Fact: The video is AI-generated, as indicated by visual inconsistencies and AI detection tools. Forest officials have also clarified that no such incident occurred in Amravati. Hence, the claim is FALSE.
To verify the claim, we closely examined the video and noticed several inconsistencies. In multiple frames, the leopard’s body appears distorted, with some parts merging into the background, while in other frames, certain body parts are clearly missing or invisible. These are common indicators of AI-generated content, suggesting that the viral video is digitally created using AI.

To verify whether the video is AI-generated, we analysed it using the AI detection tool Deepfake-o-meter, which flagged the video as AI-generated.

Additionally, media reports quoted a clarification from a rescue team officer from Amravati, Amol Gavner, who stated that the viral video claiming a leopard on railway tracks in Gopal Nagar, Amravati, is fake (here, here and here). These findings confirm that the video is AI-generated and that no such real incident occurred in Amravati, as claimed.
To sum up, this video showing a leopard attacking people on a moving train in Amravati is AI-generated.
