This video of a building under fire is from Abu Dhabi, not Turkey

A video accompanied by a post is being widely shared on social media claiming it is from Turkey. The post even claims that the building which is on fire is a residential tower in the city of Bodrum. Let us fact-check the claim made in the post.

Claim: Video of fire breaking out in a residential tower in Bodrum, Turkey.

Fact: The video is from Abu Dhabi, not Turkey. This huge fire broke out at a building in Al Mamoura area in Abu Dhabi on the night of 17 June 2021. It is true that over the past few days, there were forest fires that raged through many parts of Turkey and hundreds of people in the tourist hotspot of Bodrum were evacuated to escape the wildfires. But this video is not related to Turkey. Hence, the claim made in the post is FALSE.

When reverse image search is done on the screenshots of the video, the same video (with two seconds clipped) was found on YouTube. The YouTube video was uploaded on 18 June 2021 with the title, ‘A fire break out in Al Mamoura Abu Dhabi City I Thursday Night Huge Fire Breaks Abu Dhabi Building.’ According to the description of the video, the incident happened on 17 June 2021 in Al Mamoura, Abu Dhabi city.

Taking a cue that this video could be from Abu Dhabi, we searched Google with relevant keywords. A couple of articles were found (here and here) reporting the same incident in Abu Dhabi with similar visuals. A huge fire broke out at a building in the Al Mamoura area in Abu Dhabi on the night of 17 June 2021 with no casualties reported. A similar video report on the fire in Abu Dhabi can be seen here.

However, over the past few days, there were forest fires that raged through many parts of Turkey. Hundreds of people in the tourist hotspot of Bodrum were evacuated to escape the wildfires. The news reports about the fires in Turkey can be seen here, here, and here.

To sum it up, this video of a building under fire is from Abu Dhabi, not Turkey.
