This Rubik cube mosaic of Sai Baba shown in the video was not listed in the Guinness Book of World Records

A video of a girl depicting a Rubik’s cube mosaic of Sai Baba is being shared on social media claiming that she was listed in the Guinness Book of World Records for the act. The post claims that the girl had created this Sai Baba mosaic at the Shri Sai Spiritual Centre in Tyagaraj Nagar in Bangalore. Many users shared the same video in 2021, mentioning the girl’s name as Aruna Sairam. Let’s verify the claim made in the post.  

Claim: Video of the girl who was listed in the Guinness Book of World Records for depicting the Rubik’s cube mosaic of Sai Baba.

Fact: The Rubik’s cube mosaic of Sai Baba shown in the video is not listed in the Guinness Book of World Records. There is no record listed with the name Aruna Sairam on the Guinness Book of World Records website. Hence, the claim made in the post is False.

Many YouTube channels and Facebook pages posted the same video in 2021 stating that 15 years old Aruna Sairam entered the Guinness Book of World Record for creating the Sri Saibaba image with Rubic Cubes. Those old social media posts can be seen here and here. When we searched to check whether any girl had achieved a place in the Guinness Book of World Records for depicting the Rubik’s cube mosaic of Sai Baba, we could not find any such record on the official website or social media handles of the Guinness Book of World Records. Various records achieved in the category of Rubik’s cubes can be seen here.

There is no record with the name Aruna Sairam listed in the Guinness Book of World Records. A rotating puzzle cube mosaic depicting the portrait of Prince Harry had achieved a place in the Guinness Book of World Records in the category of “Most contributions to a rotating puzzle cube mosaic”. A 15-year-old Tamil Nadu kid Shanat Dheepak Ram achieved a place in the Magic Book of Record for designing more than 20 portraits using a minimum of 500 Rubik’s cubes to a maximum of 750 Rubik’s cubes. The portraits include Gods and Goddesses like Sai Baba, Ganesha, Jesus Christ, Andal and others. There are many achievements in other International World Records including the smallest portrait rangoli of Sai Baba and creating Sai Baba Rangoli Portrait on 40,000 square area. But there is no record of the Rubik’s cube mosaic of Sai Baba included in the Guinness Book of World Records.

To sum it up, this Rubik’s cube mosaic of Sai Baba shown in the video was listed in the Guinness Book of World Records.
