A post is being widely shared on social media claiming that Subramanian Swamy had called Congress party a hidden terrorist Muslim organisation. Let us fact-check the claim made in the post.
Claim: “Congress is not a political party but a hidden terrorist Muslim organisation” – Subramanian Swamy.
Fact: There is no evidence to show that Subramanian Swamy said something like that. However, Subramanian Swamy had been very critical of the Congress party in the past. In 2011, Subramanian Swamy claimed that he had threats from both Congress and Islamic terrorists, because of his views and stand against the then Congress government in courts. Hence, the claim made in the post is FALSE.
When we searched online whether Subramanian Swamy had made such a statement, we could not find any credible evidence to confirm that Mr. Swamy said something like that.
However, Subramanian Swamy had been very critical of the Congress party in the past. Swamy attacked the Congress recently for a supposed blocking of Dwarka undersea expedition. In 2011, Subramanian Swamy claimed that he had threats from both Congress and Islamic terrorists, because of his views and stand against the then Congress government in courts.
Subramanian Swamy, earlier said that India is gravely affected by jihadi terrorist attacks; he called for a ‘clear-cut’ policy to deal with Islamic terrorism.
