The viral claim of Yuvraj Singh donating 600 tractors worth ₹42 crore to Punjab flood victims is fake

A post is circulating on social media (here, here, and here) claiming that former Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh has decided to donate 600 tractors worth ₹42 crore to families affected by the 2025 Punjab floods. Let’s verify the claim made in the post in this article.

Claim: Former Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh has decided to donate 600 tractors worth ₹42 crore to families affected by the 2025 Punjab floods.

Fact: Former Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh has notdonated 600 tractors to families affected by the 2025 Punjab floods, and there are no credible media reports supporting this claim. The ‘You We Can Foundation’ clarified to Factly that the viral claim is fake and no such donation has been made. Hence, the claim made in the post is FALSE.

To verify the claim, we searched Google using relevant keywords but found no media reports or credible information supporting it. Considering the scale of the donation claim, it would have received significant media coverage, but none was found.

We then reviewed Yuvraj Singh’s official social media (here, here, and here) and his foundation You We Can’s accounts and website (here, here, and here, but found no mention of the donation of 600 tractors. A post by him on 01 September 2025 expressed grief over the Punjab floods and support for affected families, but made no mention of such a donation.

According to reports (here, here, here, and here), several celebrities, including Sonu Sood, Randeep Hooda, Kapil Sharma, Akshay Kumar, Salman Khan, Diljit Dosanjh, Ammy Virk, Sonam Bajwa, Gurdas Maan, Vicky Kaushal, Bhumi Pednekar, Karan Aujla, and Gippy Grewal, have helped Punjab flood victims. However, we found no media reports or evidence that Yuvraj Singh decided to donate 600 tractors.

While tracing the origin of the viral image, we reviewed it carefully and found a ‘Gemini AI’ watermark at the bottom-right corner, indicating it was generated using artificial intelligence.

To further verify whether the viral image was AI-generated, we analysed it using AI content detection tools. Hive, an AI content detection tool, indicated a 98.1% likelihood that the image was AI-generated.

We also contacted the You We Can Foundation, which clarified that the viral claim about donating 600 tractors worth ₹42 crore to flood-affected farmers in Punjab is false and no such donation has been made.

To sum up, the viral claim of Yuvraj Singh donating 600 tractors worth ₹42 crore to Punjab flood victims is fake.
