A video (here, here and here) is going viral on social media showing a husband entering a hotel room, recording the scene, and finding his wife inside. The surroundings suggest that she is with another man, leading to an argument. Let’s fact-check the truth behind this video.

The archived post can be found here.

Claim: The viral video shows a husband catching his wife with another man in a hotel room.

Fact: The video is scripted and originates from Ankita Karotiya’s YouTube channel, where she uploads staged content for entertainment. Her Instagram account also identifies her as a video creator and prankster from Delhi. Hence, the claim is FALSE.

To verify the truth, we conducted a reverse image search on Google, which led us to the extended version of the viral video on Facebook. It was uploaded by an actor’s account named ‘Prakash Entertainment’ on 03 October 2024. The original video is approximately eight minutes long, and at the 01:07 timestamp, a disclaimer states that the video was created for entertainment purposes. The viral segment appears between the 0:12 and 0:27 timestamps of the full video.

We also found the full version of the video on YouTube, uploaded on Ankita Karotiya’s account on 25 August 2024. Additionally, we identified that she is the actress featured in the video.

While checking her YouTube account, we found that Ankita Karotiya is an actress and a digital content creator who produces entertainment videos. This is evident from the various scripted content on her channel.

We also reviewed her Instagram account, which is linked to her YouTube channel. It confirms that she is a video creator and prankster from Delhi, further proving that the viral video is scripted and not real.

We also found similar scripted videos on the channel. While these particular videos do not include a disclaimer, some other videos on the channel do. Ankita has uploaded multiple scripted videos on her YouTube channel, including the viral one. Additionally, the same actors appear in several videos, confirming that they are staged (here, here and here). Previously, similar misleading claims were circulated using videos from Ankita’s channel, which we had debunked as well (here and here).

To sum up, the video of a husband catching his wife in a hotel room is scripted and not real.
