A post claiming that Supreme Court has approved a logo for teachers to put on their vehicles just like doctors is being shared widely on social media. The post also shares the image of the logo. Through this article let’s fact-check the claim made in the post.
Claim: Supreme Court has approved teachers to put their logo on vehicles just like doctors.
Fact: PIB through a tweet has categorically stated that the Supreme Court has not approved any such logo for teachers to put on their vehicles. Their tweet has rated the claim as fake. Further, there are no such directions or judgement available on the Supreme Court website. Also, we could not find any news articles or official records in support of this claim. Hence the claim made in the post is FALSE.
Google search with relevant keywords led us to a 06 February 2020 tweet by PIB which fact-checked the claim. As per the tweet ‘the Supreme Court has not approved any such logo for teachers to put on their vehicles’. Further, the tweet rated the news as FAKE.
Further search on the Supreme Court website using ‘teachers logo’ as keyword and with free text filter did not yield any results.
Google search with relevant keywords did not yield us any news articles stating the Supreme Court has issued such a directive. However, the search led us to a February 2020 Hindustan Times news article which reiterated the PIB’s fact-check which rated the claim as fake.
Reverse image search of the photo in the post led us to a Facebook page titled ‘Teacher Logo’ through which the same logos are being publicized. Taking a cue from this page, further search on Facebook with relevant keywords led us to the Facebook account of ‘Rajesh Khanna’ who claimed that the logo was founded by him. However, we could not independently verify his claim. Hence we can say conclusively that the Supreme court has not issued any direction which allows teachers to put this logo on their vehicles.
To sum it up, the Supreme Court of India has not approved any logo to be used by teachers on their vehicles.
