The scroll in this video was not found during excavations at the Ayodhya Ram mandir site

A video is being shared on social media with a claim that it shows a scroll that was found during excavations at the Ram mandir construction site in Ayodhya. Let’s fact-check the claim made in the post.

Claim: Video shows a scroll that was found during excavations at the Ayodhya Ram mandir construction site.

Fact: The scroll in the video was not found during excavations at the Ram mandir construction site in Ayodhya. The officials of ‘Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra’ have clarified that no such scroll was found during the excavations. Also, the symbols on the scroll match with the Jewish symbols. Hence the claim made in the post is FALSE.

When we searched about the scroll in the video, no credible sources were found in the search results. If really such a scroll was found in Ayodhya, many media agencies would have reported about it. But no such report was found. In 2020, ‘Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra’ made Tweets about the items found during the excavation, which can be seen here and here. None of those tweets mentioned the scroll.

Also, when ‘Fact Crescendo’ has contacted the officials of ‘Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra’, they have clarified that no such scroll was found during the excavation.

Details regarding the scroll:

When the screenshots of the video were run through Google Reverse Image Search, the same video was found to be on the internet at least since January 2020. No credible information was found regarding the video. The Instagram page – ‘define.avcilari’, which posted the video in January 2020, has posted many similar videos, which can be seen here, here, and here. None of those videos mention that they are related to Ayodhya.

Some social media users have mentioned that the language on the scroll is Hebrew, and the symbols are Jewish. Some of the symbols on the scroll which match with the Jewish symbols can be seen here and here.

To sum it up, the scroll in the video was not found during excavations at the Ayodhya Ram mandir site.
