The job notification by ‘Avestran Infotech’ for 5,285 vacancies in the Indian Railways is fake

A newspaper clipping of a job notification by ‘Avestran Infotech’ is being shared widely on social media with a claim that it is for 5,285 vacancies in eight categories on outsourcing basis in the Indian Railways. As the image shows the job notification for posts in the Indian Railways issued by a private agency, the user claims that it shows the beginning of privatization in the Indian Railways. Let’s fact-check the claim made in the post.

Claim: Newspaper clipping of a job notification by ‘Avestran Infotech’ for 5,285 vacancies in the Indian Railways.

Fact: It is found that the website of the ‘Avestran Infotech’ given in the advertisement is not working now. The ‘Ministry of Railways’ has clarified that the advertisement is fake. They said that the advertisement for any Railway recruitment is always done by Indian Railways only. Hence the claim made in the post is FALSE.

In the posted job notification, it can be seen that the website link given for applying for these jobs is given as ‘www.avestran.in’. But, the website of the ‘Avestran Infotech’ given in the advertisement is not working now.

So, when we searched further regarding the job notification, it was found that the ‘Ministry of Railways’ has already clarified about this issue. They said that the advertisement by ‘Avestran Infotech’ regarding jobs in the Indian Railways is fake. They also said that the advertisement for any Railway recruitment is always done by Indian Railways only.  In its clarification, they further said – ‘the Railways have not authorized any private agency as yet to do the recruitment of staff on its behalf as alleged by the above-named agency. To sum it up, the job notification by ‘Avestran Infotech’ for 5,285 vacancies in the Indian Railways is fake.
