Fact: This video shows Yogi Adityanath getting emotional during the ‘Ek Diya Shaheed Ke Naam’ event organised in October 2017. This event was organised in honour of the martyrs at Gorakhnath temple in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh. The video shared in the post is old and had nothing to do with ‘The Kashmir Files’ movie. Hence, the claim made in the post is FALSE.

When we searched for this video using keywords, a video with similar visuals was found published by the ‘ABP News’ channel on 17 October 2017. ‘ABP News’ reported it as visuals of Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath breaking down into tears during an event of martyrs.

On searching for further details using this information, a similar photo of Yogi Adityanath in tears was found published by several news websites in October 2017. They can be seen here and here. According to these articles, UP CM Yogi Adityanath got emotional and had burst into tears while listening to the ‘Sandese Aate Haine’ song during the ‘Ek Diya Shaheed Ke Naam’ event in Gorakhpur. This event was organised in honour of the martyrs at Gorakhnath temple in Gorakhpur.

Lately, the Uttar Pradesh government granted tax-free status for ‘The Kashmir Files’ joining the list of Gujarat, Assam, Madhya Pradesh, and other BJP-ruled states. But it is nowhere reported that Yogi Adityanath had watched the movie and got emotional.
