A few users shared the video claiming that the firing had taken place on 25 April 2023. Let’s verify the claim made in the post.

Fact: The video shared in the post was published on a website in 2022 describing it is the visuals showing a 2010 incident of Indian army soldiers neutralizing the terrorists in Kashmir. The video shared in the post is old and has nothing to do with the recent attack on Indian soldiers in the Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir. Hence, the claim made in the post is False.
On observing the video carefully, one could see the watermark ‘@ghatakoperator’ on the video. When we searched for the video using this information on the internet, we found the same video on the Instagram handle ‘@ghatakoperator’. This Instagram page published the video on 19 April 2023, a day before 5 Indian army soldiers were killed in a terrorist attack in the Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.
On reverse image search of the video shared in the post, an extended version of the video was found published on a website in 2022. The description of the video stated that the visuals show a counterinsurgency operation conducted by Indian Army soldiers in Kashmir in 2010. From the visuals seen in the video, it is confirmed that the firing took place at a government primary school in Nagri tehsil of Jammu and Kashmir. From all these pieces of evidence, it can be concluded that the video shared in the post is old and has nothing to do with the recent terrorist attack in the Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.
To sum it up, an old video was shared as the recent footage of Indian soldiers neutralizing terrorists in retaliation for the Poonch attack.
