Fact: The video is from 2019 when police lathi-charged anti-CAA protestors who clashed with the police at Lucknow’s Parivartan Chowk. In December 2021, there was a clip showing a police lathi-charge on a group of people protesting the exam process, but the current viral video is not from that incident. When a reverse image search is done on the screenshots of the video, the same video was found on YouTube. The YouTube video was uploaded on 19 December 2019. The police lathi-charged anti-CAA protestors who clashed with the police at Lucknow’s Parivartan Chowk. There are news reports (here and here) on these protests that had turned violent in Lucknow when protestors pelted stones and police had to resort to lathi-charge and tear gas.
