Old video from Saudi Arabia is being falsely shared as the one from Rajasthan.

A post with the video of camels being washed away in floods is doing rounds on social media with a claim that this incident happened in Rajasthan. Through this article let’s fact-check the claim made in the post.

Claim: Video of camels being washed away in floods in Rajasthan.

Fact: According to a news video, these visuals are from Saudi Arabia which witnessed flash floods back in 2018. The video has nothing to do with Rajasthan. Hence the claim made in the post is FALSE.

Reverse image search of the screenshots of the video led us to a news video which carried the same visuals as in the post. This video is uploaded on a verified YouTube channel called Northeast Live on 15 November 2018 and the description of the video reads ‘Flash floods claim 30 lives in Saudi Arabia’. According to the video, these visuals are from flood-hit Saudi Arabia in 2018.  News article reporting the flash floods which hit Saudi Arabia in 2018 can be read here and here. With this, we can say that this video has nothing to do with Rajasthan

Few social media users shared the same video back in 2018 which can be seen here and here. These posts also claim that these visuals are of the flash floods which hit Saudi back in 2018.

In the light of the recent flash floods which hit Rajasthan, videos like those in the post are being shared with misleading claims.

To sum it up, the video is of flash floods which hit Saudi Arabia in 2018 and has nothing to do with Rajasthan.
