A video is being shared widely on social media with a claim that it shows 20,000 Nihang Sikhs marching towards Delhi on 2,000 horses to support farmers protesting against the new agricultural laws. Let’s fact-check the claim made in the post.

The archived version of the post can be found here.

Claim: Video of 20,000 Nihang Sikhs marching towards Delhi on 2,000 horses to support protesting farmers.

Fact: The video is an old one. It is being shared on the internet at least since 2018. So, it has no connection with the recent farmers’ protest in Delhi. Hence the claim made in the post is FALSE.

When the screenshots of the video were run through Google Reverse Image Search, the same video was found to be uploaded on YouTube in 2018. Several old posts of the same video were found to be uploaded by multiple users as a video related to ‘Delhi Fateh Diwas 2018’. Information about the ‘Delhi Fateh Diwas’ can be read here and here. While the exact details regarding the video were not found, it can be concluded that it has no connection with the recent protests as it is on the internet much before the new agricultural laws were passed in the Parliament.

To sum it up, an old procession video is being falsely shared as a video of 20,000 Nihang Sikhs marching towards Delhi on 2,000 horses to support protesting farmers.
