A post is being shared widely on social media with a claim that the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has taken the big decision to convert the Taj Mahal into a Shiva Temple. Let’s fact-check the claim made in the post.
Claim: UP CM Yogi Adityanath has taken a big decision to convert the Taj Mahal into a Shiva Temple.
Fact: No such decision has been taken by the UP CM. If any such decision was taken, then all the reputed news agencies would have reported about it but none of them reported any such news. Also, the UP government recently opposed a petition filed by a BJP leader asking for a fact-finding committee to study the history of the Taj Mahal and open its closed doors. Hence the claim made in the post is FALSE.
When we searched on the internet to check if the UP CM has made any such decision, no such reports were found in the search results. If any such decision was taken, then all the reputed news agencies would have reported about it but none of them reported any such news. We also found that the UP government recently opposed a petition filed by a BJP leader asking for a fact-finding committee to study the history of the Taj Mahal and open its closed doors.
