A video featuring the performance of three Russian female gymnasts is currently circulating widely, accompanied by the claim that these gymnasts represent three generations from the same family. Through this article let’s fact-check the claim made in the post.

Claim: Video displaying the gymnastic performances of three generations of Russian gymnasts from a single family.

Fact: This video showcases the performance of three Russian gymnasts named Aigul Shaikhutdinova, Ekaterina Stroynova, and Ekaterina Loginov, performing in the 2010 Acrobatic Gymnastics World Championships. As per the records, the three were born in 1994, 1987, and 1985, respectively. And these three are not related to each other. Hence, the claim made in the post is FALSE.

The viral video does, in fact, feature the performances of three Russian gymnasts. However, it’s important to note that these three individuals are not related to each other. At the beginning of the video, the names of the Russian gymnasts are identified as Aigul Shaikhutdinova, Ekaterina Stroynova, and Ekaterina Loginov.

Taking a cue from this, a search on the internet led us to a report that included the same video. According to the report, the performance took place during the 2010 Acrobatic Gymnastics World Championships. The trio secured the top position in the women’s group category at the 2010 championship, earning them the first prize.

However, it’s important to note that this report does not mention the three individuals being related. Additionally, our search did not yield any information confirming that these gymnasts are indeed from the same family.

Moreover, according to records from the Russian Federation for Aerobatics, Aigul Shaikhutdinova, Stroynova, and Loginov were born in 1994, 1987, and 1985, respectively. This information reinforces the fact that these three individuals could not be related (grandmother, mother, and daughter ) to each other, as claimed in the post. It’s worth noting that when this video previously went viral with the same claim, AFP had debunked it by clarifying that there is no familial relation among the three gymnasts.

To sum it up, although the three gymnasts are from Russia, they are not related to each other.
