On Social Media, since the past few weeks, tweets purportedly made by National Security Advisor Ajit Doval are going vital. Recently, a Facebook user has posted a screenshot of the tweet supposedly made by Ajit Doval and it is being shared by many Facebook users. The tweet has the following message- “Neither Amazon, zomato, flip cart, swiggi have come to your aid in this case of Flood  hitting your town & your Neighborhood. Your nearest Pepole , Community,  traditional Shop owners in your home town has come to help you. Do business with them and grow them”. Let’s try to analyze the authenticity of the tweet in the screenshot.

Claim: NSA Ajit Doval has tweeted- “Neither Amazon, zomato, flip cart, swiggi have come to your aid in this case of Flood  hitting your town & your Neighborhood. Your nearest Pepole , Community,  traditional Shop owners in your home town has come to help you. Do business with them and grow them”.

Fact: The tweet is from a Twitter account managed by ‘fan club’ of Ajit Doval. Also, Ajit Doval doesn’t have any official account on Twitter. So, the claim made in the post stands FALSE.

The screenshot posted has the tweet from the Twitter handle “@AjitKDoval_NSA”. When searched, the account was found and it even had the tweet seen in the screenshot. When you go through the profile of this account, it is clear from the description that the account is managed by ‘fan club’ of Ajit Doval. Twitter’s policy permitting the creation of ‘fan account’ can be read here. So, the claim that NSA Ajit Doval has put that tweet is false.

When ‘FACTLY’ had earlier contacted Prime Minister’s Office to know if NSA Ajit Doval has an account on Twitter, they said that he does not have any official account on Twitter.

To summarize, NSA Ajit Doval hasn’t tweeted anything about Zomato, Swiggy not coming to aid during floods. It was tweeted by an account managed by his ‘fans club’.
