On Facebook, since a few days, many users are alleging that Bhim Army Chief Chandrashekar Ravan’s actual name is Naseemuddin Khan and he has been masking his true name so that he can divide the Hindus. Let’s try to check the veracity of the claims made in the post.

The archived version of the post can be seen here.

Claim: Bhim Army Chief Chandrashekar Ravan’s actual name is Naseemuddin Khan.

Fact: Chandrashekar Ravan himself tweeted rubbishing the allegations over his name. Moreover, the bail order from Allahabad High Court also lists his name as ‘Chandrashekar Ravan’. So, the claim made in the post stands FALSE

When one looks at the Twitter account of Chandrashekar Ravan if he has given any clarification regarding the rumours over his real name, a tweet by him rubbishing such rumours was found. In his tweet, he referred to a tweet that made allegations over his name and has written, “I have not stopped laughing since I have read this post. Well, the name ‘Naseemuddin’ is not bad”.

To verify his name in any of the official records, we accessed a copy of bail order granted by Allahabhad High Count after his arrest regarding the Saharanpur violence in 2017. It can be noted that even in the bail order his name is mentioned as ‘Chandrashekhar @ Ravan‘. Hence there is no evidence to claim Bhim Army Chief Chandra Shekar Ravan’s actual name is Naseemuddin Khan.

When BOOM contacted Chandra Shekar on Twitter, he said, “The BJP does these things to defame me.” (“ये भाजपा के लोग बदनाम करने के लिए ऐसी चीजें करवाते है”). Finally, there is no truth in the rumours that Bhim Army Chief Chandrashekar Ravan’s actual name is Naseemuddin Khan.
