A video of two persons on a bike being swept away in a flash flood after a bridge collapsed, is being shared on social media with a claim that the incident happened in Karnataka. Let’s try to analyze the claim made in the post.

Claim: Video shows two motorcyclists being swept away in a flash flood after a bridge collapsed in Karnataka. 

Fact: The incident in the video happened in Cambodia, not in Karnataka. Hence the claim made in the post is FALSE .

When the screenshots of the video were run through Google Reverse Image Search, a video uploaded by ‘Viral Press’ on YouTube in July-2019 can be found in the search results. The description below the video reads, “This is the shocking moment two motorcyclists were swept away after a bridge collapsed during a flash flood. Kinak DaLi and Sok Vandy, soldiers from the 1st Light Infantry Division, were riding over the crossing made from logs and mud when it gave way due to the force of the river below. They both plunged some 10ft into the torrent of water and have been missing since the accident yesterday (24/07) afternoon in Siem Reap Province, Cambodia.” So, it can be concluded that the incident is not related to any flood in Karnataka.

To sum it up, motorcyclists in the video were swept away in a flash flood in Cambodia, not in Karnataka.
