A video is being shared on social media claiming it shows visuals of Kerala Muslims rallying in Pakistan defence uniforms with Pakistan flags on the occasion of Milad un-Nabi. Let’s verify the claim made in the post.
Claim: Video of Muslims marching a rally with Pakistan flags in Kerala.
Fact: The video shows an Islamic rally conducted on the occasion of Eid-e-Milad un-Nabi near the Balla beach in Kanhangad, Kerala. The video shows Muslims marching to a rally holding a flag of Samastha Kerala Jem-iyyathul Ulama Islamic organization. The rally has nothing to do with Pakistan. Hence, the claim made in the post is False.
On reverse image search of the screenshots of the video, a video showing similar visuals was found published by a few users recently on TikTok and YouTube. They can be seen here, here, and here. These YouTube users published the video reporting it is the visuals of a rally conducted on Eid-e-Milad un-Nabi in Kanhangad, Kerala.
On observing the video carefully, one could see a board with ‘Balla Beach’ text written on it. Balla Beach is located in Kanhangad town in the Kasaragod district of Kerala. When we searched for the details of the flag displayed in the rally, we found it is a flag of the Samastha Kerala Jem-iyyathul Ulama, an Islamic organization in Kerala. The flags seen in the video look similar to the flags of the Samastha Kerala Sunni Yuvajana Sangham (SYS), a sub-part of the Samastha Kerala Jem-iyyathul Ulama.
On searching for further details using the relevant keywords, we found an extended version video of this rally conducted in Kanhangad on 28 September 2023, on the occasion of Eid-e-Milad un-Nabi. A few other videos showing rallies conducted on Milad un-Nabi in Kerala can be seen here and here.
