A social media post accompanying a video which claims that Elon Musk has started a trading platform using quantum & AI technologies is being widely circulated. The video claims that one can quadruple their money by investing 250 dollars. Through this article let’s fact-check the claim made in the post.

Claim: Elon Musk started a new trading platform using quantum and AI technologies.

Fact: Elon Musk did not start or invest in any trading platform which uses quantum & AI technologies. There is no such information or any media reports in this regard. Moreover, the website of the alleged platform does not appear to be convincing. There is no sufficient information (like the founders/investors, where it is based at, etc.) available on the website. Further, the website carries a digitally edited video of Elon Musk presenting the Quantum AI platform whereas the visuals are actually from Elon Musk’s presentation at the International Astronautical Congress in Adelaide in 2017.  Hence the claim made in the post is FALSE.

According to the viral video, Elon Musk started a trading platform which uses Quantum AI technology. Given the stature of Elon Musk, the media would report any product launch or an investment made by him. However, we did not find any such reports of him starting a trading platform developed using AI/Quantum technology.

Dubious Website:

The viral video carries a watermark which reads ‘QuantumAI’. Taking a cue from this, a Google search led us to a website with this name. The website description reads ‘the Quantum AI investments app is a trading platform used for cryptocurrency trading. It allows the users to work their way through the market and earn money from the investment they’ve made in the app.’

Similar to the claim made in the viral video, the description on the website also says that the minimal initial deposit is $ 250. However, the information available on the website does not appear to be convincing. There is no credible information about the organization, like founders, investors and where it is based, etc.

Further, the website declares Microsoft, IBM & OpenAI as their partners. But we could not find any official information or media reports about these companies investing or working with QuantumAI. Moreover, the website carries a video in which Elon Musk can be seen making a presentation about the trading platform (Quantum AI) developed using quantum technology. However, upon the reverse image search, we found that the visuals are extracted from Elon Musk’s presentation at the International Astronautical Congress in Adelaide, in 2017 (here & here). In this speech, Musk spoke about his space company ‘Space X’ plans to land an unmanned spaceship on Mars.

Visuals from this presentation are digitally edited to appear as if Elon Musk’s presentation is about a quantum trading platform. In fact, the audio does not sound like Elon Musk. It seems like someone mimicked him. Hence, all this evidence establishes that it is a dubious website, trying to con users.

To sum it up, Elon Musk is not associated with this quantum trading platform.
