Digitally created video shared as real visuals of drones playing volleyball


A video is being shared on social media claiming it as real visuals of two drones playing a volleyball game on a building rooftop. Let’s verify the claim made in the post.

Fact: The video shared in the post is a digitally created one. This animated video was created by an Iran-based visual effects artist, Hamid Ebrahimnia. Hence, the claim made in the post is FALSE.

On reverse image search of the screenshots in the video, similar visuals were found in a video published on the Instagram handle of Hamid Ebrahimnia, a visual effects artist based from Tehran city in Iran. In the description of the video, Hamid Ebrahimnia mentioned it as an animated video created using Cinema 4D software. Hamid Ebrahimnia shared the same animated video on his YouTube channel.

According to an article published by ‘Snopes’, Hamid Ebrahimnia published the making process of this drone video on his Instagram handle. However, this making video is not available now on his Instagram handle. Hamid Ebrahimnia shared the ‘Snopes’ article on his Instagram handle.

The portfolio of Hamid Ebrahimnia can be found on the ‘Foundation. app’ website. Similar CGI videos of a Giant whale flying in the air, and Eiffel tower covered with a blanket were found in the portfolio of Hamid Ebrahimnia.
