A video is being shared widely on social media with a claim that it shows Naseem Khan, a Congress leader, making ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ slogans at a rally. Let’s try to analyze the claim made in the post.

The archived version of the post can be found here.

Claim: Video shows Congress leader Naseem Khan making ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ slogans at a rally.

Fact: It is a clipped video. In the full video, it can be seen that Congress leader Naseem Khan said Sri Sri Ravi Shankar made ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ slogans. Hence the claim made in the post is FALSE.

When searched about the incident, it was found that Naseem Khan has already filed a case on the ‘fake’ video at Sakinaka police station in October 2019. In ‘The New Indian Express’ article, it can be read that the police probe found that the video was doctored and was uploaded by a Facebook account holder named Venkat Goddul.

The un-clipped version of the video can be seen here. He said (English Translation) – ‘Today, on the banks of Yamuna river in Delhi, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar made ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ slogans in the presence of Rajnath Singh. Will the sedition case be filed on him?’. Sri Sri Ravi Shankar’s comments (to which Naseem Khan was referring in his speech) can be watched here. Also, it was found that Sachin Sawant, a Congress leader, has posted a video, comparing the original and clipped videos, on his Twitter account. So, the original video was clipped to show that Naseem Khan made ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ slogans.

To sum it up, the video was clipped to falsely show that Naseem Khan made ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ slogans.
