Video of a giant bird flapping its wings standing at the edge of hill and surrounded by a group of spectators is being widely shared on social media, claiming that the bird was released from the cage zoo after many years and forgot how to fly. Let’s verify the claim made in the post.

Claim: Video of a bird which was released from cage after so many years and forgot how to fly.

Fact: The bird seen in the video is Andean Condor. In 2012, the condor was found close to death in Catamarca (Argentina) after being poisoned by the ranchers. It was freed by rescuers in Argentina after its treatment in 2014. The full video shows the bird flying seamlessly into the skies. Hence the claim made in the post is MISLEADING.

When the screenshots of the video were subjected to reverse image search technique, a certain keyframe was found in an article of ‘The Dodo’.
