Fact: This video from 2016 was filmed during the promotions of the Bollywood movie Ki and Ka. Arjun Kapoor slapping RJ Arpit in Radio Mirchi studio was an April Fool’s prank, pulled off during this interview. Hence, the claim made in the viral post is MISLEADING.
Searching the internet with relevant keywords led us to two videos uploaded on the ‘Mirchi Plus’ YouTube channel. Radio Mirchi RJ Arpit interviewed Arjun Kapoor on the occasion of his film Ki & Ka’s release. In the first video (watch here), titled ‘Shocking!!! Arjun Kapoor slaps Radio Mirchi RJ’ Arjun Kapoor slaps RJ Arpit on a question and says, ‘what kind of a question is this? Switch off the camera…’ and he is seen pushing the RJ and the camera from the cameraman’s hand. This video was uploaded on 28 March 2016, and has around 33 million views.
Mirchi plus uploaded another video (watch here) on 29 March 2016 titled ‘ REVEALED | Why did Arjun Kapoor Slap Mirchi RJ Arpit?’ In this video, it was revealed that the slap was part of an April Fool’s prank. A report on this incident by DNA India can be read here.
