Fact: The incident shown in the video took place during a DJ competition in Uttar Pradesh’s Meerut District during the Kanwar Yatra. In another incident which took place in Uttarakhand, a person named Kartik Baliyan was killed in a clash between two groups participating in Kanwar Yatra. Kartik Baliyan is a soldier in the Indian army. The video shared in the post is not related to Kartik Baliyan’s death. Hence, the claim made in the post is MISLEADING.
Searching on the internet with relevant keywords yielded few news reports related to the death of Kartik Baliyan. Baliyan, a soldier in the Indian army, was reportedly killed in a clash between two groups in Kanwar Yatra. The reports can be read here, here and here.
We also found a video on YouTube that is same as the one shared in the post; the video’s title reads ‘fight erupted between two groups of Kanwariyas during a DJ competition.’ Upon further research, we found few news reports related to the video.

Meerut police have also clarified about the incident via Twitter. In response to a tweet posted by a user, Meerut police have tweeted, ‘police station in-charge Kharkhoda has been informed for necessary action.’
With all this information, we can conclude that the video of a fight in Uttar Pradesh is falsely attributed to Kartik Baliyan’s death in Roorkee, Uttarakhand.
