Fact: This video is from 2019 and was filmed at the Bombay Times Fashion Week. Hence the claim made in the post is False.
Firstly, we searched the internet to check the claim’s veracity with relevant keywords and learnt that the coronation ceremony of King Charles III is yet to be conducted (here). It will be held on 6 May 2023.
Celebrities worldwide were invited to attend the ceremony, of which Sonam Kapoor is one. According to reports (here and here ), ‘ She is going to perform a word piece – which means she will deliver a prelude to the inspiring virtual choir performance by the Commonwealth, combining choirs, solo artists and duos from the 56 Commonwealth countries, … ‘
It is evident from all this information that some unrelated video is being peddled as her performance at the coronation ceremony of King Charles III, which, in fact, is yet to be held. In order to find out what exactly the video is, we performed a keyword search on YouTube and found that it is a video of her dance performance from 2019. Sonam Kapoor performed the song Ghar More Paradesiya from the movie Kalank at the Bombay Times Fashion Week 2019.
To sum up, an old video of Sonam Kapoor at a fashion show is falsely shared as her performance at King Charles’ coronation.
