A video is being shared on social media claiming that it shows the recent violence at Telinipara in the Hooghly district of West Bengal. In Telinipara region of the Hooghly district in West Bengal, violence erupted between Muslims & Hindus over a dispute regarding the usage of a public toilet during the lockdown. But, FACTLY has found that the posted video is an old one. It is not related to the recent communal violence at Telinipara. It was found to exist on the internet at least since December 2019. Several YouTube news channels have suggested that the video is of an incident during the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) protests in West Bengal. But FACTLY could not independently verify that claim.
