A message with 10 rules is being shared widely on social media with a claim that they are new rules of the Indian Railways which are going to be effective from 01 July 2021. Let’s fact-check the claim made in the post.
Claim: 10 new rules by the Indian Railways which are going to be effective from 01 July 2021.
Fact: The same message is being shared on the internet at least since 2015. The Ministry of Railways has clarified multiple times in the past that the message is incorrect. Hence the claim made in the post is FALSE.
When we searched about the message in the post, it was found that a similar message is being shared on social media at least since 2015. Some of those old posts can be seen here and here.
A similar message was also published by certain news agencies in June 2016. But later many news agencies have reported that the Railway officials clarified – “This news is totally incorrect and baseless. A section of media has also published the news without verifying it from authorised sources of the Indian Railway system and it has created confusion among the minds of the people”.
