A video (here, here, and here) showing four masked men holding rifles and delivering a message is being shared online with the claim that they belong to the so‑called “Liberation Front of Afghanistan,” threatening retaliation for the Pahalgam terror attack in April 2025. The post description reads: “Pahalgam has not yet been AVENGED. Every ISI-backed resistance fighter in Pakistan or elsewhere will be HUNTED DOWN and ELIMINATED.” We will fact-check this claim through this article.

Claim: Video shows the “Liberation Front of Afghanistan” vowing to avenge the April 2025 Pahalgam terror attack.
Fact: This video clip is from 2022 and has been edited with an overdub tying it to the 2025 Pahalgam terror attack. Hence, the claim made in the post is False.
To verify the claim, we performed a reverse image search using key frames from the viral clip and found (archive link) its original version uploaded on 4 February 2022 by the Facebook page of Liberation Front AFG.

We transcribed the Persian & Arabic audio using Google’s Notebook LM and learned that the armed men seen in the video are condemning Taliban oppression, highlighting issues like the torture of journalists and the suppression of women, but they make no reference to Kashmir, Pakistan, or Pahalgam.
The current viral version, however, contains an English audio from the 20-second mark, explicitly referring to Pahalgam, Pakistan, and the ISI. This narration was not part of the original. This makes it clear that the viral video has been edited with dubbed audio.
To learn more about this video and the ‘Liberation Front AFG’ group, we performed a keyword search and found news reports (here, here, and here) about the video from 2022. As per these reports, the ‘Liberation Front of Afghanistan’ had announced its existence through this video. The reports labelled this group as anti‑Taliban. These reports did not mention anything about this front making an anti-ISI or anti-Pakistan statement in the video.

Even on the Facebook page of the Liberation Front AFG, we did not find any statements in support of India. The last post on their page was made on 1 April 2022, which is apparently their Manifesto.

Further, we also searched for any recent credible reports of Afghan militant groups pledging revenge for Pahalgam but found none. No credible news outlet or official source has reported any “Liberation Front” threatening such action. This confirms that the video has been edited with the English overdub to the Liberation Front AFG video from February 2022 to fabricate the claim.
To sum up, a 2022 video of the Liberation Front AFG speaking against the Taliban has been edited and dubbed in English to falsely claim they recently threatened Pakistan over the 2025 Pahalgam incident.
