Fact: The video is not a recent one. The incident in the video took place in 2017 when the Obamas welcomed the Trump couple to the White House after Trump’s victory in the 2016 Presidential Election. Also, it an edited video. In the original video, it can be seen that Barack Obama took the gift inside and handed it over to a staffer. Hence the claim made in the post is FALSE.
When searched with the keywords, many similar videos were found in the search results. As the posted video had the ‘CNN’ watermark, we looked for the ‘CNN’ video. It was found that a similar video was posted by the ‘CNN’ on its YouTube channel in January 2017 with the following description – ‘President Barack Obama greets President-elect Donald Trump at the White House’. So, it is not a recent video. Also, in the video, it can be seen that Barack Obama took the gift inside and handed it over to a staffer. So, the posted video is an edited one.
