Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) activist Ankita Shah portrayed as the ‘Toolkit’ case accused Nikita Jacob

A photo is being shared on social media claiming it as the picture of ‘Toolkit’ case accused Nikita Jacob with Delhi Chief Minister Aravind Kejriwal. The Delhi Police issued an arrest warrant against the Mumbai-based activist Nikita Jacob, alleging her involvement in the controversial ‘Toolkit’ application shared by the Sweden climate activist Greta Thunberg. Claim: Photo of ‘Toolkit’ case accused Nikita Jacob along with Delhi CM Aravind Kejriwal.

Fact: The lady standing beside Aravind Kejriwal in the photo is Aam Aadmi Party volunteer Ankita Shah, not the ‘Toolkit’ case accused Nikita Jacob. Ankita Shah shared this photo of her with Aravind Kejriwal in 2019. Hence, the claim made in the post is FALSE.

On reverse image search of the photo shared in the post, we found few social media posts sharing the same photo, with a similar claim. In a response to one such tweet, a user mentioned that the girl is Aam Aadmi party volunteer, Ankita Shah.

When we searched for the photo using these keywords, we found out that AAP volunteer Ankita Shah shared the same photo on her Facebook and Twitter handles in 2019. In her Twitter bio, Ankita Shah mentioned herself as “Die Hard Fan !! Aravind Kejriwal !! AAP National Social Media Team!! India”.

Ankita Shah shared a post on her Facebook page, clarifying that her photo was falsely portrayed as the ‘Toolkit’ case accused Nikita Jacob. From all these pieces of evidence, it can be concluded that the girl in this photo is AAP volunteer Ankita Shah, not the ‘Toolkit’ case accused Nikita Jacob.

To sum it up, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) activist Ankita Shah is falsely portrayed as the ‘Toolkit’ accused Nikita Jacob with Delhi CM Aravind Kejriwal.
