Claim: A video shows an Army soldier surprising his mother, a tender coconut seller, by saluting her.

Fact: The video does not show a real incident; it is a scripted video made for educational purposes, uploaded on Facebook on 12 November 2024 by actress Sanjjanaa Galrani. The original video includes a disclaimer stating that the page features scripted dramas, parodies, and awareness videos. Similar disclaimers on other videos confirm that the viral video is scripted and fictional. Hence, the claim made in the post is FALSE.

A reverse image search of the keyframes from the viral video led us to an original video (archived link) uploaded on Facebook on 12 November 2024, by actress Sanjjanaa Galrani, titled, “Salute This Mother..!”

We observed that a disclaimer was included in the caption and at the end of the video. The disclaimer stated “Thank you for watching! Please note that this page features scripted dramas, parodies, and awareness videos. These short films are created for entertainment and educational purposes only. All characters and situations depicted in the videos are fictional and intended to raise awareness, entertain, and educate.”

We found the same video (archived link) on the “3RD EYE” YouTube channel, uploaded on 15 November 2024, in a wider aspect ratio. “3RD EYE” creates scripted videos for educational purposes, and both the video and its description state it was made for entertainment and education. Similar disclaimers on other videos confirm that the viral video is scripted and fictional.

Factly previously debunked similar claims involving videos by “3rd Eye” created for entertainment and educational purposes, which went viral as real incidents (here, here, here, and here).

To sum up, a scripted video of an Army soldier surprising his mother, who sells tender coconuts, is falsely shared as a real incident.
