A ‘meme’ is being circulated as ‘pro-Modi cartoon published in a European newspaper’

A post with an image is being widely shared on Facebook with the claim that it shows a pro-Modi cartoon published in a European newspaper. Let’s check the authenticity of the claim.

Claim: Image of a pro-Modi cartoon published in a European newspaper

Fact: The image is a ‘meme’. No such cartoon was found to be published in any of the European newspapers. Hence, the claim is FALSE.    

In the image, ‘spiderman’ is seen marked as ‘Modi’, ‘India’ as ‘child’ and the ‘bus’ as ‘Congress, Mamata Benerjee, China, Pakistan….’. When the image in the post is subjected to Google reverse image search technique, it was found that the cartoon is being used with various versions as a ‘meme’.

When searched if any of the newspapers in Europe had published the pro-Modi cartoon, no such cartoon was found. The templates of the above kind might have been created using ‘Meme Creator’.

To summarize, a ‘meme’ is being circulated as ‘pro-Modi cartoon published in a European newspaper’.
