A video (here, here and here) is going viral on social media, showing a lion entering an under-construction building and climbing to the top, where a few workers are seen sleeping. The lion appears to sniff and lick them, after which they wake up and run away in panic. The video is being shared as a real incident that allegedly took place in the Dhari district, Amreli, Gujarat. Let’s find out the truth behind it.

Claim: Video shows a lion entering an under-construction building in Dhari district, Amreli, Gujarat, and sniffing sleeping workers.
Fact: The video is AI-generated and was originally posted by a TikTok user who labeled it as such. No credible news reports confirm such an incident occurred recently in Dhari, Amreli. Hence the claim is FALSE.
Upon closely examining the video, we noticed several inconsistencies — at certain moments, parts of the lion’s body appear partially invisible. At one point, two lions are visible, but one mysteriously disappears. These visual glitches strongly suggest that the video may have been created using AI or digital editing tools.

To confirm whether the video was AI-generated, we analysed it using AI detection tools Cynalytix and DeepFake-o-meter. Both tools indicated a high likelihood that the video was artificially created using AI.

We also noticed a watermark reading “@ataquesferoz” on the video. A keyword search led us to the original post on TikTok by the user @ataquesferoz, who had labelled the video as “AI-generated,” confirming that the visuals are not real but artificially created. The account features several other similar AI-generated videos.

Additionally, we searched for any credible news reports about a lion entering an under-construction building in the Dhari district, Amreli, Gujarat, but found no such incident reported recently.
To sum up, a deepfake video of a lion entering an under-construction building is falsely shared as a real incident from Gujarat.
