A video is being shared on social media claiming that it shows Narendra Modi acknowledging the hardships endured by the Chhattisgarh people under the BJP rule. The video shows Narendra Modi saying- “Chhattisgarh me BJP sarkar hone ka bahuth bada nuksan, sabse bada nuksan mere Chhattisgarh ke bhai aur behno ko utana pada he, mere naujavano ko utana pada he” (when translated from Hindi to English- “There is a huge loss due to the BJP government in Chhattisgarh, the biggest hardships has been suffered by my brothers and sisters of Chhattisgarh, my  youth had to bear these hardships.”).  Let’s verify the claim made in the post.

Claim: Video of Narendra Modi acknowledging the hardships faced by the Chhattisgarh people under the BJP rule.

Fact: The video shared in the post is a clipped one. In the unedited original video, Narendra Modi accused the Congress government for the hardships faced by the people in Chhattisgarh. Hence, the claim made in the post is False.

When we searched for the video using relevant keywords, we found similar visuals in a video published on Narendra Modi’s YouTube channel on 14 September 2023. The video shows the full speech of Narendra Modi during a public meeting at Raigarh in Chhattisgarh.

From 12:38 minutes of the video, Narendra Modi was seen saying-“Mere Parijano, Delhi ki bhajapa sarkar Chattigarh ke vikas ke liye koi kor-kasar nahi chod rahi he. Lekin yaha jo congress ki sarkar he, vo vikas ke kaam me nahi balki sirf hawa-hawai baathe aur daavo me juti rahti he. Chattisgarh me bjp sarkar na hone ka bahut bada nuksan, jabse BJP ki sarkar gayi, jabse ye log baite he, sabse bada nuksan mere Chhattisgarh  ke bhayiyo aur Behnonko utana pada he, mere naujawano ko utana pada he” (when translated from Hindi to English- “My dear friends, the BJP government of Delhi is leaving no stone unturned for the development of Chhattisgarh. But the Congress government here is not engaged in development work but only in empty talk and claims. There is a huge loss due to no BJP government in Chhattisgarh. Ever since the BJP government left, since these people have been in power, my brothers and sisters and the youth in Chhattisgarh had to bear the biggest loss.”). The video shared in the post clipped the portion of Narendra Modi accusing the Congress government of the hardships faced by the people in Chhattisgarh.

In the full speech published on the Narendra Modi website, they changed the phrase “Chattisgarh me bjp sarkar hone ka bahut bada nuksan” from “Chattisgarh me bjp sarkar na hone ka bahut bada nuksan”(when translated from Hindi to English: “There is a huge loss due to the absence of BJP government in Chhattisgarh.”).

To sum it up, a clipped video was shared as the visuals of Narendra Modi acknowledging the hardships faced by the Chhattisgarh people due to the BJP government in the centre.
