Video of burka clad women walking out of a room is being widely shared on social media claiming that it is related to the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022. Let’s verify the claim made in the post.

Claim: Video of burka clad women at FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.

Fact: This video was posted on 03 September 2021 by a Russian based Instagram account ‘Khimarka’. This video shows burka clad women coming out of the Khimarka cloth store in Russian city of Khasavyurt. Also, according to Qatar travel advisory, tourists can generally wear their clothing of choice, but shoulders and knees should be covered when visiting public places. Hence the claim made in the post is FALSE.

Reverse image search using the keyframes extracted from the viral video led us to the same video posted on 03 September 2021 by a Russia based Instagram account ‘Khimarka’. As per the description, the video shows burka clad women coming out of the Khimarka cloth store. The store is in Khasavyurt city of Russia.
