A video of protesters stopping and waving black flags in front of a convoy is being shared on social media claiming it as the recent video of protesters attacking Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath’s convoy in Lucknow. Let’s verify the claim made in the post.

Claim: Recent video of protesters stopping the convoy of Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath.

Fact: Video in the post shows Samajwadi Party supporters stopping Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath’s convoy near Lucknow University on ‘05 June 2017’. It is an old video. Hence the claim made in the post is Misleading.

On observing carefully, at the 1.19 seconds of the video we could hear a lady shouting ‘Yogi Sarkar Murdabad’. On searching with the keywords ‘Yogi convoy stopped by protesters’ on Google, similar visuals were found in a video published by ‘Lehren News’ channel on YouTube on ‘12 June 2017’. This video was posted on YouTube with the title ‘Attack on Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s Convoy’. On searching for other sources, a ground report of ‘ABP News’ channel was found on YouTube. In the report, it is mentioned that the youth wing supporters of Samajwadi Party attacked the Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s convoy on ‘05 June 2017’ while he was heading for a function in Lucknow University.

NDTV news channel reported on ‘10 June 2017’ that the students who protested holding black flags in front of CM Yogi Adityanath’s convoy were denied bail by the local Court in Lucknow. 11 students including 2 girls were denied bail by the court on charges of a security breach in Chief Minister security protocol. To sum it up, a three-year-old video is now being shared as a recent video of protesters stopping Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath’s convoy.
