Fact: This incident happened at Delhi Zoo on 17 October 2019. A 28-year-old man, who was reportedly in an inebriated state, climbed into the lion’s enclosure. However, the Zoo staff promptly rescued him, and he remained unhurt. The police said he is mentally unstable. Hence, the claim made in the post is MISLEADING.

An internet search using relevant keywords led us to news reports by Hindustan Times, India Today, and Indian Express, all featuring the same video. According to these reports, on 17 October 2019, a 28-year-old man climbed into a lion enclosure at the National Zoological Park in Delhi. Visuals show the man sitting, squatting, and then tumbling in front of the lion. Fortunately, the prompt action of the visitors alerted the Zoo staff, who quickly rescued the man by tranquillizing the lion. Zoo officials said that the lion did not hurt the man.

Local police stated that the man, a native of Bihar, was initially in an inebriated state and appeared to be mentally unstable. He was subsequently sent for a medical examination.
