Fact: Video shared in the post is an edited clip of the press conference held by Rahul Gandhi on 19 January 2021. In the press conference, Rahul Gandhi released the ‘Kheti Ka Khoon’ booklet published on new farm laws. While showcasing this booklet to the Journalists, Rahul Gandhi turned back alleging BJP leaders would have showcased their book in a hiding manner unlike them. Hence, the claim made in the post is FALSE.
When we searched for the press conference video shared in the post, we found the visuals of Rahul Gandhi’s special press briefing held at AICC headquarters on 19 January 2021. Live streaming of this press briefing was shared on the official YouTube channel of the Indian National Congress (INC). In the press conference, Rahul Gandhi released the ‘Kheti Ka Khoon’ booklet written on new farm laws. We can see those visuals at 2:07 timestamp of the video.
While showcasing this booklet to the journalists, Rahul Gandhi turned back saying “ देखो कितना फेयर हे हम लोग. इदर भी ढीकाथे, उधर भी ढीकाथे. बीजेपी होती थो बस छुपाते इस तरह” (see how fare we are. We are showing our booklet to each one of you. If it was BJP, their leaders would have showcased in a hiding manner like this). We can see those visuals from the 2.24 minute of the video. The audio where Rahul Gandhi alleged that BJP leaders would have showcased the booklet in a hiding manner, is edited and shared with a false narrative.
