Fact: As per the FIR registered regarding this incident, both the victim and the accused belong to same community (Muslim). Hubbali Sub-urban police station SI Hoyelannavar has also confirmed the same. Hence the claim made in the post is FALSE.
Google search with relevant keywords led us to few news articles which reported the incident. According to one such news article, a man attacked a woman who is believed to be his lover with a machete in broad daylight in Hubbali’s Deshpande Nagar.
According to the FIR registered regarding the incident, the name of the accused is Ismail and the name of the victim is Asha and both of them belong to the same community (Muslim). Asha’s mother Bibijan made the complaint with the police.
Further, when FACTLY contacted Hubbali Sub-urban police station SI Hoyelannavar, he confirmed that both the victim and the accused belong to the same community (Muslim). All these establish that the victim of the attack also belongs to the Muslim community and the claim of Love Jihad has no basis.
