Fact: The video is from ‘Sri Kanyaka Parameswari Temple’ in Nellore, Andhra Pradesh; not Tirupati Balaji temple which too is in Andhra Pradesh. In October 2021, as part of Dasara celebrations, the temple committee had decorated the deity with currency notes. Hence, the claim made in the post is FALSE.
When reverse image search is done on the screenshots of the video, a video with similar visuals was found on YouTube. According to the YouTube video, the visuals were from ‘Sri Kanyaka Parameswari Temple’ in Nellore, Andhra Pradesh. However, the Tirumala Balaji temple is in Tirupati, which too is in Andhra Pradesh.
When we searched online with relevant keywords, several news reports were found about the special decoration in the ‘Sri Kanyaka Parameswari Temple’ in Nellore. In October 2021, as part of Dasara celebrations, the temple committee had decorated the deity with currency notes. It had been reported that, with the help of the devotees, nearly 7 kg gold, 64 kg silver, along with 5.16 crore currency was used to decorate the deity. We could not find any recent reports of Tirupati Balaji temple being decorated with currency notes instead of flowers.
