Fact: The Gurgaon police through a tweet clarified that the transgender shown in the video had committed suicide due to illness in the Rajendra Park area in Gurugram, Haryana. Gurgaon police emphasized in the tweet that the incident was not a murder and said it had nothing to do with Bangladesh Muslims. Hence, the video shared in the post is False.
When we searched the internet for the details of the incident using relevant keywords, we could not find any news report informing that a group of Bangladeshi Muslim men killed a transgender in Gurgaon.

The Gurgaon police through a tweet clarified that the video shows a transgender who committed suicide due to illness recently in the Rajendra Park area in Gurgaon. The Gurgaon Police said that the incident took place on 03 July 2023 and said that a case was registered related to this incident in the Rajendra Park police station. The Gurgaon police dismissed the social media rumours attributed to the video, reiterating that the incident was not a murder, and confirmed that it had nothing to do with Bangladesh Muslims. The ‘Inshorts’ news site has also reported this clarification issued by the Gurugram police.
Speaking to ‘Boom Live’, Rajendra Park police station Inspector Pankaj said, “It is a case of suicide. She is a transperson, her name is Priya. She was troubled by her illness. Her post-mortem has also been done. This is not a case of murder by a Bangladeshi Muslim.” This article will be updated once the FIR is uploaded on the Haryana Police website. Rajendra Park police station SHO confirmed to us also that the incident was indeed a case of suicide. The SHO refuted the social media rumours of Bangladesh Muslims being involved in this incident.
