Fact: The video shared in the post shows a recent incident that took place in Bangladesh. This video shows Touhidi Janata supporters in Bangladesh assaulting a group of Muslim youth celebrating Eid by playing music through loud music speakers in a moving truck. The Karnataka State Police fact-check team published an article clarifying that this incident had taken place in Bangladesh, not in front of a Mosque in Karnataka’s Hubli. Hence, the claim made in the post is FALSE.
On reverse image search of the screenshots in the video, a video with similar visuals was found published by a few Bangladesh news channels recently. They can be seen here, here, and here. These news channels reported it as the visuals of Touhidi Janata supporters in Bangladesh thrashing a group of men for celebrating Eid by playing loudspeakers in a moving truck.
Touhidi Janata, a group of supporters of an Islam took the initiative to prevent obscene celebrations during the Eid. On 06 May 2022, Maulana Nazrul Islam Siraji from Bangladesh shared the same video on his YouTube channel and spoke about the incident. Several youth in different places of Bangladesh were arrested or penalized for playing loud DJ songs and making obscene gestures during the Eid celebrations. When this video went viral as an incident from Hubli, the Karnataka State Police Fact-Check team published an article clarifying that the video is from Bangladesh.
