A video is being shared on social media (here, here) with the claim that it shows NDTV journalist Aditya Raj Kaul allegedly reporting that 15 Indian Army officers resigned over the past few days, citing extra-judicial operations in Jammu and Kashmir and warning of possible future war crimes trials. Let’s verify the truth behind the video in this article.

The archived post can be found here.

Claim: The video shows NDTV journalist Aditya Raj Kaul reporting that 15 Indian Army officers resigned over the past few days, citing extra-judicial operations in J&K.

Fact: NDTV journalist Aditya Raj Kaul did not make any such statement, and there is no evidence of Indian Army personnel resigning over extra-judicial operations in J&K. The viral video is digitally manipulated, with AI-generated/deepfake audio added to unrelated visuals. Hence, the claim made in the post is FALSE.

To verify the claim, we searched online, including NDTV’s official website, but found no reports of journalist Aditya Raj Kaul making such a statement, and no reports supporting the viral claim.

We then conducted a reverse image search of key frames from the viral video, which led us to the original video where NDTV journalist Aditya Raj Kaul can be seen wearing the same attire as in the viral clip. The original video was uploaded on 17 November 2025 on NDTV’s YouTube channel, titled “Delhi Blast News | Delhi Suicide Bombing A Warning Shot: JeM Is Rebuilding, Says Francesca Marino.” In the video, Italian investigative journalist Francesca Marino, an expert on Pakistan and Jaish-e-Mohammed, speaks exclusively with Aditya Raj Kaul about her book, “From Pulwama to Payback – The Inside Story.” Marino discusses the recent suicide bombing at Delhi’s Red Fort, JeM’s resurgence, unreleased details of the Balakot air strike, and Pakistan’s continued support for terrorist networks. She highlights issues like female suicide squads, intelligence failures, and global hypocrisy. At no point does Kaul mention that 15 Indian Army officers resigned over the past 11 days, citing extra-judicial operations in J&K. This confirms that the viral audio was digitally added to an unrelated NDTV video.

Suspecting the video was doctored, we analysed the viral clip using the Hiya AI voice detection tool, which indicated that the voice is likely AI-generated or a deepfake. This confirms that the viral video is fake and digitally manipulated, with the original visuals paired with fabricated audio.

We also found an X post by NDTV journalist Aditya Raj Kaul dated 23 December 2025, in which he stated that the viral video is a deepfake.

To sum up, this viral video claiming to show NDTV journalist Aditya Raj Kaul reporting about the resignations of Indian Army Personnel is a deepfake.
